BALLET THEATRE HOUSTON'S  "THE NUTCRACKER"

We are pleased to present performances at The Berry Center, 8877 Barker-Cypress Rd, Cypress, TX the weekend before Thanksgiving.

We are delighted to bring outstanding guest artists to perform in our community.  Past artists include the incomparable Brooklyn Mack of The Washington Ballet who has performed with us for five years.  Ms. Heidi Karel Erickson, a former Ballet Theatre Houston member now with City Ballet of San Diego, has come home for the past two years as our Sugarplum Fairy.  Mr. Anton Boytsov of the Mariinsky Theatre and graduate of the Vaganova Academy performed the role of Herr Drosselmeyer in 2013.

This is an amazing opportunity to fall in love with ballet and to kick off the holiday season.  Meet and greet with the Company members and guests after each show. SAVE THE DATE TO JOIN US NEXT YEAR.

Those interested in joining the BTH Company are encouraged to take a trial class at Studio of Dance and begin classes as soon as they are able.  Invitations will be sent in May and August.  For those interested in Children's Class, we also encourage you to join Studio of Dance.  Auditions for Children's Cast will happen in mid-September.

  • Dance Insights

"Passe is an action not a position." - Mr. Robert   Robert shares a wealth of information on a variety of topics, especially ballet.  In any class you take from him you are likely to get equal parts of history, pedagogy and current trends while training.  "Pedagogy" is the art and science of education.  So there you are, you just learned something by reading this blog post.

  • It's Never Too Late

It’s never too late to join a dance class. For students interested in joining our Discovery and Pre-Professional Classes, we are working on recital. Because we focus on training versus competition or performance in our classes, we welcome students whether they participate in recital or not.
